Baby Name Help?

My 14 year old twins are very common names Megan and Michael. I am expecting a baby Feb 5 and I want something different this time. My husband and I were married 2 years ago in Las Vegas and thought that a name that reminded us of our wedding and our favorite place to be would be nice. We came up with Sahara because that was the hotel we stayed at and we could think of anything else that we liked. Is Sahara too out there? Or should I use it as a middle name like Caitlyn Sahara?

Baby Name Help?
I think Sahara is a pretty name!

Forget what other people think and give her the name if you and your husband like it!

(I think Gwyneth Paltrow took the cake on that one, so you shouldn't worry about it.)

I know a child named Sedona and she gets nothing but compliments on her name!

I also once met a child named Sage and I never would have thought until that moment that naming a child after an herb could work.

I think you should go for it. A name that means something to the two of you is far better than an ordinary name you just pick out of a book.
Reply:i think it's a great name. i like the sound of sahara rose myself.
Reply:i think that's a relly pretty name. plus it's cool to have a different name. it's tiring to hear that everone's name is sarah, jessica, michael, or christopher.
Reply:Name your baby whatever you want to name him/her!

I think SAHARA is beautiful!!! It's way better that some of the other stuff I've heard lately (Apple, Surri, Shiloh-yuck!).

I think it's different, but not so out there that you have to explain it all the time! %26amp; it's not so common that you call her name %26amp; 25 other kids answer (like the Caitlin, though cute, very common). But in the end, the decision is yours.

Good luck
Reply:I think either one would work, I don't think it is too out there. You just have to think about what type of jokes kids could come up with.. and other than Sahara Desert, I can't think of any.
Reply:I think it's great go for it. congrats to
Reply:No not at all. If it is something that the two of you like then I would go for it. I like it personally and it is your child so you should definatly name it something you like. Good luck!
Reply:I think it should be a middle name and then stick with the M. So something like Marie Sahara. Have that as her full name like Sarah Louise off of Coronation street.
Reply:i dont like Sahara too much.. maybe JUST Caitlyn. Or Caitlyn something else... or .. idk.. if i think of something ill add more details
Reply:I like origionality in names. Someone said it would hurt her all her life, but I think that it will make her stronger when she learns to ignore teasing (some child is bound to find a stupid pun) Still, the middle name is a good idea if you have doubts.
Reply:I like the names tegan, kia, tia, star, angel, keeley, hope for girls names or why dont you make a name up say put two names together so it means something to you. for a boy i like oliver, ollie, alfie, freddy old fashion names are back. good luck
Reply:I think that is a beautiful name! Not too out there at all!
Reply:My daughter's name is Laiken Armani. I think a lot of syllables is very feminine. You chose a beautiful name. I like it as a middle name I think.
Reply:I have always liked the name Caitlyn....Sahara is different...i say do what your heart disires...who cares what others think...

Reply:Sahara sounds nice, perhaps short for Sadie, or Sadi ....

Sahara Caitlin instead of the ''y'' its my opinion the names follow each other look more impressive.
Reply:I think that is a great name, definitly to be used as a frist name. I think different names are the best. It's no fun to be one of three Erica's in a class. Greek Mythology has a lot of unique names. I like the names Calypso and Calista.

This site has many names... http://www.babynamebox.com/
Reply:Sahara is a great Middle name.

Some other names you might consider could be:

-Valarie

-Vanessa

-Veronica

-Victoria

Starts with "V" for Vegas.
Reply:i like it a lot either as a first name or a middle name.
Reply:I think Sahara is just fine. I would go with a two syllable middle name. I wouldn't use Caitlyn as a middle name though. Sahara is definitely a beautiful name. Try a more traditional middle name, and since your other children have M names try a M middle name. ex. Sahara Marie, Sahara Michelle,
Reply:I honeymooned in Vegas as well. I think you should name your baby anything you want. Don't worry about what other people think. If you spend your life trying to please others you will end up pleasing no one, not even yourself.
Reply:I love unusual (but not out there) names. Sahara is beautiful. Pair it with a slightly more traditional middle name if you want.

But I don't like Caitlyn and Sahara together. Sorry.
Reply:how about altering it so it's Savannah?
Reply:How about....

Lynda or Lynda Caye (I don't like Caitlyn)

Martha or Martha Kay

Cayla or Kayla

Shannan (that's as close to Sahara I can get, ha)

Kaylee,kaylea,Caylea

Katy

Sahara Caye

Let the syllables sing.

All these names blend nicely with Megan %26amp; Michael
Reply:Sahara is a beautiful name. Not "out there" at all.
Reply:buth ways are beautiful...
Reply:I have heard worse. I would use it as a middle name.
Reply:name your kid whatever you want. yes kids in school can be cruel but they would find away to make fun of any name you and your husband pick out. your kids are going to hate you off and on for a lot of different stuff what you name them is nobodies business but your own.
Reply:COngrats on being prego!!! Sahara sounds very pretty and unique. Write it down and say it over and over thats what i did with mine and there names are

Destiny, alize,Deja
Reply:Sahara is a great name for a stripper!
Reply:If you name your baby sahara, she will get beat up in school. No offense to your las vegas trip but that is a little out there, unless you're a hollywood actress. Don't give your kid a name that will hurt her the rest of her life.
