My husband and I really want to name our little girl Sylvie. Do you like this name? Should it be short for Sylvia or is it OK as a full name? Should we spell it Silvie instead? Any suggestions for middle names? Our last name is Watson.
Do you like this baby girl name?
I think Sylvie is a cute nickname. I do prefer Sylvia for the full name. Sylvia is a great name too so why not go for it? :)
Definitely use the spelling with a "y" in whichever you choose. It makes the name fancier, and pretty.
I like:
Sylvia Elise Watson
Sylvia Ann Watson
Sylvia Claire Watson
Sylvia Taylor Watson
Sylvia Grace Watson
Sylvia Maya Watson
Sylvia Paige Watson
Sylvia Brooke Watson
Sylvia Paris Watson
Sylvia Nicolette Watson
Sylvia Megan Watson
Sylvia Mckenna Watson
Sylvia Reese Watson
Sylvia Caroline Watson
Sylvia Gayle Watson
Sylvia Elisabeth Watson
Sylvia Erin Watson
Sylvia Madeline Watson
Sylvia Kendall Watson
Sylvia Hannah Watson
Sylvia Lynn Watson
Sylvia Victoria Watson
Good Luck. SD
Reply:I like Sylvie, and I think it's spelled just right (I believe it's French in origin). It's really a beautiful, feminine name. As for a middle name, are there any good family names you could use? If not, I like Lee. :) Have a happy baby!
Reply:With a name ending in the "y" sound, its always better to start with the full name and then call her by the nickname. Sylvie is cute as a baby and as an old lady, but as a career woman, it may be hard for her to get people to take her seriously.
Its a beautiful name, and I like the spelling Sylvie. Silvie looks like silver.
Good luck!
Reply:sylvia is good
Reply:Sylvie is a great name!
Reply:Yes, I think it should be short for Sylvia!! But sorry I am not crazy about either of them=)
Reply:I like Sylvia or Sylvana with Sylvie as a nickname. Very cute!
Sylvie/Silvie is OK on it's own as well - but personally I prefer the -a endings because I think they sound more "grown up" :)
some middle name suggestions:
Sylvia Claire
Sylvana Dawn
Sylvie Elise
Silvia Anne
Silvie Jeanine
Silvana Rose
you may also consider giving her your middle name, or the first/middle/last name of one of her grandmothers, for sentimental value!
Reply:its a good name no doubt, but think when she is older
will it fit to her age (lets say 54)???
Reply:Sylvie Ann
Reply:what about leeann
Reply:Sylvie Grace Watson
Reply:I think her name should be Sylivia and Sylvie for short. The y confussed me on the pronountion of the name. I had to think on it a bit. Keep that in mind. It is a beautiful name. It'd spell it Sil-v-ia instead of Sy-liv-ia.
Reply:i like it spelled as Silvie
it looks and sounds really unique
which makes it a beautiful name
