Pronounced me-ka, which spelling is more attractive Meika or Mieka, and what do you think of it in general?
What do you think of this baby name?
Not bad. For a chimpanzee.
Reply:good unique and interesting name for boy or girl
Reply:its cute ummm spell it Meika
Reply:i like Mieka it's a real great name
Reply:i would say Meika it's a lovely name. there is a girl in Waterloo Road with that name but there is also that singer so I'm not sure if it is a girl's name or a boy's name. saying that though a lot of names are unisex aren't they.
Reply:The name is no good
Reply:Meka sounds like Meika or Meike, which is a dutch name, Meike means "Meisje"which means "girl". Mieka I dunno but "Mieke"is also a common dutch name.
Reply:Meika is very different. I think it is kind of cute but seems like a nickname, short for Tameika or another name that has the me-ka sound in it.
I like the spelling Meika. The other spelling will be misprounced more often - My-ka.
Good Luck. SD
Reply:i like it...and meika looks the best
Reply:i like it and think it should be spelt Meika, good luck
Reply:you can write it as Meeka also. otherwise Meika is OK
Reply:Anything that brings up questions of pronunciation and spelling should be avoided. Period.
Reply:I like Mieka better. I think it's a nice name. It's not really my style, but it definitely isn't a bad name.
Reply:IT'S DIFFERENT BUT NICE, I LIKE MEIKA THE BEST.
Reply:I don't like it
Reply:Why not "Mayka or "Meyka"
Reply:meika ,not bad xxx
Reply:I don't personally care for the name because my neighbor named her dog that but if you like it, that's all that matters. As for the spelling, I'd choose "Mieka" going by the "i" after "e" except after "c" rule. The name may be pronounced correctly if you go with the spelling I prefer.
Reply:yes it is beautiful
Reply:I like the name. My own name is very unusual, I have only known 2 other people with the same name and I love that. It is MY name and not 10 other people in the room will have the same name. Have you considered putting an 'h' on the end? Like in Sarah? It is a very pretty name , spelled either way.(my name is Thyera...th-air-a, soft a)
Reply:Mieka is better I like the name very original!
Reply:okay, i'm not really open to new names but i actually like this one. it sounds cute :) if i'm pronouncing it the right way though, is it like mee-ka. like the e is long?
anyways, i think i like meika better...just because if people read mieka they might say my-eka.
anyways, good luck!
Reply:Is it pronounce Mee-ka or Me-ka? Is there a stress on the e or is it a short sound?
I prefer the spelling Meika.
Reply:Meika, I think it's different. I like it a lot because it starts with an M!!!
Reply:I like the spelling "Meika." More then likely she will get the pronunciation "my-ka" with either spelling. My daughter is Delia (pronounced deal-ya) and we get the pronunciations da-lea and del-a quite a bit.
Reply:its cute but its also the name of the german girl in eurotrip so yea lol
Reply:MEIKA, i think its a nice name.
Reply:I don't really like Meika that much. My friends dog is named Meeka, and to me, it seems like more of a dogs name.
Good luck, however!!

Reply:It is a name I have never heard of - Is it pronounced Meka with the e sounding short?
If you spell it with the e sounding long it sounds very similar to the Spanish name for son or daughter -
Mi麓jo (my son)
Mi麓ja (my daugther)
the i is long sounding - the j sounds like h. So basically what I am saying is that it depends on what heritage / country you are wanting to use the accent of. Germany has another accent - Vietnam as well. I personally think that name Meka sounds Native American and is very pretty.Best wishes to you and your new child. Remember the name of your child comes from your heart and not from the minds of others.
Reply:I think its cute...I like it. I would spell it Meika...better chance it will be pronounced properly this way...if you spell it Mieka you might get My-e-ka
Reply:Meika would probably be pronounced more like Me-ka. I think it sounds pretty. Sounds Hawaiian to me. I like it though.
