I want to name my baby Akili , its a form of Achilles. Most people associate it with a
weakness, his heel, but I want to name my boy Akili becouse Ive admired the greek myth hero . Is this a good name for a boy?
Baby name Akili?
I LOVE it. I didn't think Achilles at all until you mentioned it. I thought it was more Polynesian or something... sounds very island... like Tiki :)
Anyway, it's exotic and beautiful just like your baby boy will be :)
Good luck!
Reply:I love that.
It's something that he'll be proud of, and it will make him unique. I'm in eighth and I don't think anyone will make fun of him.
Kids are a little kinder than that and no one will know who the hero is anyways.
Go for it.
Oh and my name is pronounced Callie like allie.
Not Call like call girl.
Hehe.
Reply:I know someone with that name and it's very exotic. I also have a friend named Akimi (Ah' kee' mee) and one named Akilah (Ah' kee' luh). Its sounds Hawaiian, too. Its better for a girl though. The tough part will be getting a middle name that goes with it.
Reply:For some reason I keep wanting to pronounce this "a-leaky".
Reply:when i first saw it i thought it was a traditional indian name, i didn't even think of achilles, so you might want to think about that. maybe add an "s" akilis" no, forget that, it looks weird. its nice that you want meaning behind the name, but when kids realize its a form of achilles, they might tease him.
Reply:i don't really like it. People will make fun of him at school. He will be really upset.
Reply:how do u pronounce that?
Reply:no kids will be mean
Reply:It is a very interesting choice! I think I like it. But if you have the wrong middle name it will sound really strange. Try:
Akili Joel
Akili James
Akili Lucas
Akili Robin
Reply:If you like it go for it. Any ideas on a middle name to go with it?
