well i just had my baby and inim not sure about the name i picked...

or leilani ..

I like it. I think Leilani is a very pretty name. Kind of sounds Hawaiian to me. I definitely prefer the Leilani spelling over Laylani though.





And Michelle is a pretty name too, esp if there is a Michelle in your life that is special to you. Names are important. They should mean something to the people who pick them, I think. But that's just me...

Reply:Do not switch the names! Michelle is a very 80s, boring first name and most people agree that anyone they know named Michelle is just an average-looking person.





Leilani, spelled that way, is beautiful.





but you already named her? did they already put it on the birth certificate? if so, I'm not sure how you could change it.





Lana, Laya or Leia, Layna are other options that are similar...

All you got to remember is these days people don't always pronounce the names properly and this can lead to frustration. I know with my youngest it does because she gets called leighanna not Liarna(the original spelling for her name)

Laylani looks wrong and seems less sophisticated. More likely to get made fun of with "Lay" in your name vs. Lei also.

The name Laylani wasn't in the top 1000 names, but Leilani was. I really like the name.
