Reply:All I can suggest is make sure they are not too modern as these modern names gout of fashion and the child when grown up feels embarassed by an unusual name

Reply:Go to babynames.com, and you can look over a list with their origins and other info.
Reply:find some baby names on a website narrow it down to about 5 then post a poll (thts wat my mum did) personally i love the names emma and erika for girls and andrew and mark for boys good luck to your friend!
Reply:Do your research! All names have particular meanings. I never name a pet or a person before they are born. When you first hold that newborn baby in your arms is the time to begin choosing names. My parents were determined that I was to be a boy, and they were dead set that my name would be John. When I was born a girl, my Father had already researched the feminine name for John, which is Joanne.

Both names mean "Beloved of God!"
Reply:There are several sites that you can go to to find baby names .......http://www.babynames.com/ is one. Or they can make up thier own unique name by combining grandparents names ......like I did with my oldest Shenta....Sheri/Taylor just changed the r in sheri to a N cuz sherta did not sound good.....LOL

Reply:I have always liked the name Freya for a girl, i think it comes from greek mythology.

try to look to things like that for inspiration, mythology has lots of cool sounding unusual but not freaky names.

the other option is to look into your interests... just dont go crazy, i would pity and kid called megatron or kirk...

Reply:I decided my baby was going to be called Jay if it was a boy or a girl!!!
Reply:i had exactly the same problem with my daughter, she went for 3 weeks without having a name (after she was born). It is extremely difficult to find a name for a baby if you dont already have a name that you love. Can i also just say it is very annoying when everyone and their mother has an opinion on names you like for your baby, it makes it almost inpossible to choose as someone somewhere will dislike it.

I would highly recommend this book call ' Cool names for babies' ive found an amazon link for you:
