Naming our baby with a celebrity baby name?

If we have a girl we really love the name Shiloh and we like the meaning "gift". (Brangelina's daughter)


We love WInter for a middle name as the baby is due in the Winter. Nicole Richie's daughter's middle name)


And we also like Harlow (Nicole Richie's daughter's first name)


We also like Suri which is a Hebrew alternative for Sarah and Sarah means "Princess" so we like that meaning too.


The problem is we could never use Harlow Winter together because of Nicole's baby.


What do you think of these names? Please no abuse on copying a celebrity. Many people in the world call the babies these names in other countries.

Before you decide to give your baby Hebrew names based on the names celebrities give their kids, I think you'd better know what these names actually mean.


Shiloh means "gift for him", and I think it's a really nice name. Other common Hebrew names that are similar are Shay (gift - pronounced like 'shy') or Shilah (gift for her - pronounced shy-lah).





Suri *does not* mean Princess in Hebrew and has nothing to do with the name Sarah. Sarah in Hebrew is the same as in English, and it's a biblical name. Noone knows where the Cruises heard Suri means


'princess' in Hebrew, but in fact it means 'go away' in the female form (which I think is quite a terrible name) or Syrian in the male form (as in a man who came from Syria). These are the only two meanings this word has in Hebrew.





If you decide to give your child a Hebrew name, please make sure it means what you want it to mean first. :)
Reply:when your baby is grown up.. these actors children will be around the same age as your children.. i wouldnt advise giving the exact same name as them.. maybe something extremely similar.. or just choose one celebrity name not 3 of them.. for intense thats like my mom naming me Angelina Jolie Smith..





How about Hayden or Hailey instead of Harlow?

Suri is just ugly to me sorry.,, why not just use Sara. Sarah, Shari

If you're going to use Winter, Harlow, and especially Suri, EVERYONE will know you stole it from a particular celebrity.


Please drop the trendiness and name your child something basic.

I think it's a beautiful name, and not masculine in the least. However, it's also not something that Nicole Ritchie made-up by herself.

I would use the combo Suri Winter but only if your child is born in winter and is makes your baby a sort of "ice princess"..
